This is what I came up with to adapt the flat reed to a Laguna/C-5/RD-50 frame. The key here was to "tilt up" the engine to allow the chain to ride "centered" going over the swing arm pivot point. The engine rear mount is stock. The top mount forms a "side-to-side/left-and-right" triangle looking straight at it from the front and also absorbs the engine torque. The bottom mount basically uses the two lower/forward cover screw holes and the original center mounting bolt hole. Mount it on the sides using a long bolt with 2 nuts and washers - one to mount the adapter to the casing followed by one to hold down the cover. You need to "notch-out" the covers. Use a standard bolt and washer going to the original frame center hole. Looking at the whole thing from the side it now uses the engine to make 2 triangles out of the engine frame-basket, making the whole bike frame stronger. Downside? It's a custom exhaust job.
