BUILD DESCRIPTION

This was my first moped and has since given its life to new projects. I just wanted to share it here, as it was a great launching point for other builds. Chopped the fairing, bobbed fenders, removed the bookrack, relocated the taillight and pulled in the turn signals. Pinstripe tape on the tank and cut out the Tomos with a razor blade from running board grip tape. Flat bars, bar end mirrors, simple control cluster, Magura 213 degree throttle and 5" metal brake levers. Mildly ported Alukit, a high comp head (no head gasket). J-cam Mikuni intake with Boyesen dual stages reeds and modified stock reed plate, K&N R-1100 filter and Techno Estoril pipe. The transmission was filled with the Mattology oil mix (50/50 type-f and 140 gear oil). Clutches recovered with chromed leather and stiffer springs. Schwalbe tires, adjustable shocks, tool kit under the seat, and extra premix in a MSR bottle under the tank were the last pieces to complete blue. It made it up the hills in Pittsburgh, PA no problem (even Canton Ave http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canton_Avenue ) and still lots of fun in the flats here in Brooklyn, NY with 28 – 22 gearing. Blue was a good bike. Good acceleration and short little frame made for a fun twitchy ride. Now Sold!
