BUILD DESCRIPTION

Started out wanting a Magnum... but didn't think it would take 18HP as well as an MB5. I started out with a bare MB5 frame, and restored the whole front end (powder, tapered steerer bearing, wheel bearings, etc.) This winter I'll have the whole frame and swing arm powdered. In short: -Around 220lbs (fully filled gas bike) -Custom 4130 Swingarm (about 6" longer than original.. needle bearings) -2.5kWh of LiFePO4 -Dual 200A controllers -78.7mph top speed (strip-verified) -Front NS50 17"x1.5" wheel with 90/80 -Rear 13" Vented hub With 130/60 tire (150/70 would make it do 85mph) -Pulls from 30mph to 60 mph in probably 2.5 seconds I got a good deal on the batteries.. Ideally I'd have 5kWh which would be good for 50 miles. Horsing around I'm guarunteed about 20 miles. Staying under 40mph I can get 30 miles. Charge time can be anywhere from 30-180 minutes depending on charger being used. Fun stuff! Range anxiety can actually be a fun thing...

Evan Merz: Added video

Evan Merz: Thanks. I got a few hours into this guy... but learned the ins and outs of the machine and the dimensions and brake caliper mod. If you want me to make you a kit, email evan.merz41 (A T) gmail

Team Dirtped: Amazing execution on a wonderful donor platform. Totally badass results!

Evan Merz: I added some pictures for you justin. If you have any questions let me know. Just turned up the motor current and now it's the most insane thing you will ever experience on an mb5.. probably faster than 125CC kitted mb5s. I'll have to make a new video a post it.. so fun! battery will last 30,000 miles and will cost around $350 to fuel during that life ;)

justin tolentino: id love to see more build photos... motor etc...

Evan Merz: It's a no-name motor I call "Chinese Bliss".. 6 phase 7kW continuous BLDC Hub. THe more important part is the controllers. 2x Kelly KBL96250 Battery: 28S12P A123 M1 cells (336 cells welded together)

Danie Kastner: What motor are you running on there? I will add it to the list.

Doug Wilhelm: This bike hauls ass!!
