BUILD DESCRIPTION

I picked this bike up from my good friend in MCR, Robert, non-running I quickly discovered the ignition was to blame, so I ditched the points and used a Pietcard coil with 2041 box, Tomos Estoril, DOS helped me track down a proper 65 Metra, and a TjT. I was running it with a sha but it felt like it was starving a bit, but hey they dont make intakes for these things? Soooo a buddy of mine from Moped Brothers welded me up a nice 19mm intake, to which I paired a Polini CP carb, this did the trick, the bike was alive and breathing fire like any good Derbi should. The Pyramid Reed motor doesnt get as much love as they should, pretty common, and if kited very fast, faster then their piston port counterpart by miles, not as torquey, but much faster
